Privacy Policy

I. General

A. “CopyTrust” refers to the company and services provided, which are subject to this Privacy Policy (“Policies”). The protection of User’s (“You”) personal information is of prime importance to CopyTrust.

B. In these Policies on data protection, CopyTrust is informing you as to how CopyTrust will treat your personal information.

C. These Policies work hand-in-hand with the CopyTrust Terms of Use, found elsewhere on the CopyTrust web site.

D. CopyTrust strictly adheres to the following rules in protecting your personal information:

  1. CopyTrust collects, processes, stores and uses your personal information in compliance with various laws and regulations on information protection of the United States and other countries.
  2. CopyTrust uses your personal information, which you have provided during the registration process, to offer CopyTrust services over the Internet. CopyTrust will never share your personal information with a third party.

E. Unless you ask us not to, CopyTrust may contact you via email to tell you about promotions, new services or changes to these policies.

II. Definitions

The following words used in these Policies shall have the following meanings:

  1. “Personal Information” shall mean all data and/or information about you or your company.
  2. “CopyTrust web site” shall mean the website on which CopyTrust provides services.
  3. “CopyTrust Users” shall mean all registered and unregistered Users of CopyTrust.
  4. “CopyTrust Services” shall mean all services provided by CopyTrust.
  5. “Registration Information” shall mean the Personal Information you are required to give to CopyTrust in the registration process, in order to access CopyTrust services.

III. User’s Personal Information

A. In order for the CopyTrust web site to operate, CopyTrust needs to collect and process certain mandatory Personal Information during the registration process. This consists of the following basic information:

  1. User profile name
  2. User account password

B. User’s password is never shared with any other CopyTrust User. CopyTrust shall never share User’s password with any third party.

C. In addition to choosing a profile name and password, User is required to provide the following mandatory Personal Information during the registration process:

  1. First name and last name.
  2. Primary email address.
  3. Company name and website address.
  4. Publisher type.
  5. Date of birth

IV. Cookies

When you login on the CopyTrust web site, CopyTrust will use ‘cookies’ to identify you during the course of the current online session. A ‘cookie’ will be stored on your computer. At the end of your online session, the ‘cookie’ will be deleted automatically. You may choose to save this ‘cookie’ in order to enable automatic login for subsequent online sessions. To do this, you need to activate the following option on the Login page by left-clicking it with the mouse: “Login automatically on this computer.” The ‘cookie’ then stores part of your login information in encrypted form on your computer. If you select automatic login, please be aware that this will only be possible on the same computer on which the ‘cookie’ was first saved.

V. Use of Personally and Non-Personally Identifiable Information

A. Each time you access the CopyTrust web site, CopyTrust will save the following data in a log file (”server log”):

  1. User’s Internet Protocol (IP) address (allows identification of your computer).
  2. The name and IP address of the computer requesting the respective page from CopyTrust (”remote host computer”).
  3. The time, status, and amount of information transferred.
  4. The type of Internet ‘browser’ you are using to access the requested CopyTrust page, including the version information of the browser (”user agent”).

B. CopyTrust may use or disclose personally identifiable information in order to operate and manage the CopyTrust web site, or to provide services that you have requested, either now or in the future, or to respond to your inquires or requests. CopyTrust may also disclose personally identifiable information in the establishment or exercise of legal rights or defenses against legal claims, to comply with applicable laws or regulations, to comply with a valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena or court order or to investigate suspected fraud or a violation of the Terms of Use found elsewhere on this web site. CopyTrust will never sell your personal information to any third party not affiliated with CopyTrust without your consent, except in connection with the possible sale or merger of CopyTrust.

C. CopyTrust collects and tracks certain non-personally identifiable information, including, but not limited to, User IP numbers and browser type, access times, domain names, usage habits and other information which does not specifically identify any User.

D. CopyTrust may use and disclose non-personally identifiable information for any number of reasons, including but not limited to, working with business partners and improving the CopyTrust web site and services.

VI. Security

A. CopyTrust takes reasonable precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the web site, your information is reasonably protected both online and offline.

B. Wherever CopyTrust collects sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address bar of the web page.

C. While CopyTrust uses encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted on line, we also protect your information off line. Only CopyTrust employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, Billing or Customer Service) are granted access to personally identifiable information.

D. The computers/servers on which CopyTrust stores personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

VII. Minimum Age

Use of the CopyTrust web site is intended for persons who are eighteen (18) years or older.

VIII. Changes to these Policies

CopyTrust reserves the right to amend these Policies at any time in the event that this becomes necessary after their initial release or in the event that it becomes necessary with respect to additional or amended services provided by CopyTrust. CopyTrust will not personally notify you of any amendments or changes to these Policies. Users are urged to check these Policies frequently in order to determine whether any changes have been made. User understands and agrees that continued use of the CopyTrust web site presupposes that User has read and accepted these Policies, as changed and/or amended.

X. Section Titles

The section titles used in these Policies are purely for convenience and carry with them no legal or contractual effect.
